Dangote Refinery backed MRS filling stations and other petroleum retailers across Nigeria have again reduced their petrol pump prices.
A market survey on Monday showed that MRS stations in Abuja and neighbouring areas reduced the price of petrol from N1,260 to N1,210 per litre.
The latest adjustment represents a N50 reduction per litre.
Similarly, AA Rano and other filling stations along the Kubwa Expressway in Abuja reduced their petrol prices by N25 per litre, bringing the average pump price to about N1,275 per litre.
The latest price cuts follow Dangote Refinery’s announcement last week of reductions in the prices of petrol and Automotive Gas Oil, AGO.
The development marks another round of petrol price reductions by MRS and other filling stations after they reduced pump prices by between N25 and N45 per litre about eight days ago.
The continued price adjustments are expected to provide some relief to motorists and consumers as competition among petroleum marketers intensifies following recent reductions in ex depot prices.
