The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, Seyi Makinde, has expressed confidence that he will defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Makinde made the declaration on Monday while speaking in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The Oyo State governor attributed his confidence to what he described as the support of God, the people of Oyo State and Nigerians across the country.
He spoke while receiving members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who defected to the APM from different parts of the state.
Addressing the gathering, Makinde urged the APC gubernatorial candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, to focus his campaign against the APM candidate, Bimbo Adekanmbi, rather than criticising his administration.
He maintained that the APM would record a decisive victory in the 2027 elections, including the presidential contest.
Makinde said: “God has signed off on what we are doing, and that is why it is raining.
“Today, we are welcoming thousands of APC members into the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), and this shows that our victory is only a matter of time. We will win massively in all elections in 2027.”
The governor further declared that the growing support for the APM demonstrated that the party was gaining momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
