The Nigeria Democratic Congress vice presidential candidate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, has claimed that Peter Obi is causing concern for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Kwankwaso made the statement on Thursday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he discussed the party’s preparations for the forthcoming elections.
He said Obi enjoys significant popularity in southern Nigeria, while the NDC is working to mobilise support in the North.
“Peter Obi is popular in the South, and we are mobilising our people in the North. Even the President is concerned about the person of our presidential candidate, and he has been having sleepless nights because of him,” Kwankwaso said.
His comments come as political parties intensify preparations and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
