Some members and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party have decided to leave the party.
They claimed they have been sidelined since the Supreme Court gave its judgement on the leadership of the party, affirming the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee as the authentic leadership of the party
The members – in the Senator Modu Sheriff camp – said they have been left out of the activities of the party and are in the dark over the developments of the past weeks.
One of the chieftains and a close ally to Senator Sheriff, Dr Kairo Ojougbo who also served as the party Deputy National Chairman to the former party leader told Channels Television that they will take a walk out of the party and decide where they will pitch their tent in the coming days.
According to Dr Ojougbo, there will be a massive defection of PDP members tomorrow, Friday the September 15 in Agbor, Delta State.
Dr Ojougbo added that their decision to leave the party is reflective of the sort of imposition and unfair treatment and lack of internal democracy which has plagued the party and led to the defeat it suffered at the 2015 polls as well as the leadership crisis the party faced recently.
He, however, did not say whether they are moving the All Progressives Congress.
