In a decisive move, Hon. Chukwuemeka Aaron, Acting State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, firmly declared his commitment to the party, dismissing rumors of his departure.

At an end-of-year meeting with PDP State Executives, Local Government Chairmen, and Party Chairmen, Hon. Aaron acknowledged the Christmas largesse distributed by Governor Siminalayi Fubara. The governor’s generous provision included one hundred bags of 50kg rice and one cow per ward across the state.

Expressing gratitude for the governor’s goodwill, Hon. Aaron addressed the ongoing social media turmoil surrounding his relationship with his predecessor, Minister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. He clarified recent events, recounting a meeting with the President where efforts were made to seek intervention for peace in the state.

Detailing the President’s involvement, Hon. Aaron emphasized that the resolutions were willingly accepted by all parties present, including Governor Wike. He refuted claims of coercion and reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP, rejecting an offer from President Tinubu to join the APC.

Hon. Aaron highlighted the governor’s dedication to peace, citing the timely payment of salaries and allowances to assembly members as evidence. He urged attendees to promote peace, emphasizing the positive impact on the people of Rivers State.

Commending Governor Fubara for Christmas packages to civil servants, Hon. Aaron called on the youth to refrain from instigating conflict. He pledged to continue advocating for peace and encouraged unity among party members.

As the distribution of the Christmas largesse approached, Hon. Aaron urged Local Government Chairmen and Party Executives to oversee logistics and ensure a smooth process. He concluded by expressing optimism that Governor Fubara and Minister Wike would reconcile once peace is restored in the state.
