According to Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited will determine whether or not Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) is available in the Nigerian market in 48 hours.
The richest man in Africa revealed details of an interview with Channels Television on Tuesday, the same day that he formally announced the first gasoline delivery from its 650,000-per-day refinery in Lagos.
He emphasized that in order to distribute the product to Nigerians, the $20 billion refinery will shortly conclude negotiations with NNPCL.
Speaking about the cost of gasoline, Dangote stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Federal Executive Council will make the final decision.
“The PMS can be on filling stations in the next 48 hours, depending on NNPCL.
“On PMS price, it is an arrangement that is designed and approved by the Federal Executive Council led by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. As soon as it is finalised, which is what he is pushing once he finishes with FEC meeting, it can be today or tomorrow we are ready to roll out in the market,” he said.
It was previously stated that Dangote declared the first gasoline deployment to be official on Tuesday.
