The Super Eagles, Nigeria’s national football team, are scheduled to return from Libya by plane with their players and officials.
This comes after the Libyan government gave in to pressure from outside parties to release their airspace and refuel the Super Eagles’ chartered jet.
For more than fifteen hours, the Nigerian athletes were left at the Al Abraq International Airport without access to food, water, or the Internet.
However, sports writer Adepoju Tobi Samuel, also known as OgaNlaMedia, has stated that they are currently traveling to Nigeria.
“The Libyan government has agreed to grant clearance for ValueJet Airline to fly and sell aviation fuel to the airline after pressure from multiple sources,” he said on X.
“They came with a gimmick to issue a pre-clearance to land in Benghazi first before we fly to Nigeria. The same Benghazi that was busy yesterday.
“The NFF has insisted that the clearance from Al-Abraq airport must be for the team to fly directly to Nigeria.”
