Uganda head coach, Paul Put, has acknowledged the strength of the Super Eagles ahead of their Group C clash at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Uganda will compete in the same group alongside Nigeria, Tunisia, and Tanzania, with their final group match set to take place against the Super Eagles at the Fez Stadium.
Speaking to CAF’s official website, Put described Nigeria as a consistent continental force blessed with quality players and strong European experience.
“Nigeria are a perennial powerhouse. There are threats everywhere from their squad with top talent and European experience,” he said.
The Belgian noted that Tunisia are highly organised, while Tanzania bring energy and familiarity, but stressed that Uganda will not be intimidated by any opponent.
“We will respect all of them, but we are not intimidated. We will give a good account of ourselves,” Put stated.
Uganda will be looking to make a strong statement in the tournament as they face some of Africa’s biggest football sides in their group campaign.
