Former Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government and governorship candidate Uche Nwosu has dismissed reports suggesting that he plans to defect from the ruling All Progressives Congress APC to the African Democratic Congress.

Nwosu made this known in a statement issued while revalidating his membership during the ongoing APC electronic registration exercise in his ward Eziama Obaire in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State.

He called on party members and residents to participate actively in the registration process and to support the APC at all levels, from the grassroots to the federal level, stressing the importance of political engagement and awareness.

The former governorship candidate described himself as a founding member of the APC, noting that he has no intention of leaving a party he helped to establish.

He also reaffirmed that former Governor of Imo State Owelle Rochas Okorocha and other members of the Rescue Mission political family remain loyal and committed members of the APC.

“I remain a committed member of the APC. I will not abandon a house I helped to build,” he said.

Nwosu’s statement follows speculation that he was considering a move to the African Democratic Congress, a claim he has now firmly denied.
