United States President Donald Trump has indicated that global oil prices will decline significantly once what he described as the “Iranian nuclear threat” is neutralized.

In a post shared on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, Trump suggested that the recent spike in oil prices is only a temporary development in the broader effort to ensure global security and stability.

He stated that “short-term oil prices will drop rapidly” once the Iranian nuclear threat is addressed.

According to Trump, the current rise in oil prices represents a small sacrifice when compared to the larger goal of ensuring the “safety and peace” of the United States and the wider international community.

His remarks come as global oil prices surged nearly 20 percent during early trading on Monday, reaching levels not recorded since July 2022.

The sharp increase follows growing concerns over the escalating United States Israeli military conflict with Iran and the potential disruption of global oil supply routes, particularly through the Strait of Hormuz, a key maritime passage for international crude oil shipments.
