Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, have staged a protest in the United Kingdom during President Bola Tinubu’s state visit, calling for the immediate release of their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The demonstrators assembled at prominent locations across London, including Parliament Square, 10 Downing Street, the Commonwealth Office and the Nigerian High Commission.

In a video circulating online, a protester was heard saying, “Our message is very clear: Tinubu does not deserve a royal salute. That is our stand today, being the 18th of March.”

Protesters were seen holding placards bearing the inscription, ‘Free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’.

Many participants wore red caps and waved Biafra flags, described as a horizontal tricolour of red, black, and green, featuring a golden rising sun at the centre of the black strip.
