Public affairs analyst, Mahmud Jega, has alleged that the ongoing crisis within the African Democratic Congress ADC is being deliberately engineered.
Jega made the assertion while speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Friday, where he also cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to exercise care in its handling of the situation.
The ADC has recently been embroiled in internal disputes, including the removal of David Mark as national chairman, following INEC’s actions in response to ongoing legal battles within the party.
Expressing concern, Jega said, “The crisis in the ADC is being engineered. And INEC has to be very careful.
“The impression INEC is giving is that it is part of the scheme to destroy all opposition parties.
“The opposition wanted the ADA; INEC sat on it for 2 years. Now they have moved to ADC, and they are coming up with something else.”
