Paris Saint Germain forward Ousmane Dembele was named the French league’s Best Player for the second time in his career during the 2025/26 Ligue 1 awards ceremony held in Paris on Monday.

The ceremony was organised by the National Union of Professional Football Players, UNFP, to celebrate outstanding performances across French football this season.

Reacting after receiving the award, Dembele credited his teammates for the achievement.

“It’s an individual trophy, but all the individual trophies I’ve won are thanks to this team”.

The 28 year old succeeds former Paris Saint Germain star Kylian Mbappe, who claimed the award five consecutive times before his move to Real Madrid last year.

Dembele’s teammate, Desire Doue, was named Best Young Player following an impressive campaign for the French champions.

Lens manager Pierre Sage received the Best Coach award after guiding the club into becoming strong challengers to Paris Saint Germain throughout the season.

Lens goalkeeper Robin Risser was honoured with the Best Goalkeeper award, while Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise won the Best French Player Abroad 2026 prize.
