Former Minister of Transportation and former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has officially submitted his presidential nomination form ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Amaechi submitted the form on Thursday at the National Secretariat of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Abuja.
The development comes amid recent political realignments within the opposition space following the exit of former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso from the ADC to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, over alleged internal disagreements and legal disputes within the party.
This marks the second time Amaechi will be contesting for the presidency.
The former Rivers governor previously sought the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2023 general election but lost the party’s primary to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
