The immediate past President of the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria, Barrister Saidu Muhammad Tuduwada, has called on Nigerian security agencies to intensify efforts toward rescuing an abducted lawyer, Barrister Hashim, who was kidnapped by bandits while returning from a MULAN conference in Kano State on Monday.

Tuduwada appealed to security forces to take decisive action, stressing that the agencies possess the capability and intelligence needed to secure the lawyer’s release.

His appeal comes as the kidnappers reportedly demand ₦50 million and five Boxer motorcycles as ransom for the victim’s freedom.

According to Tuduwada, the abductors initially demanded ₦200 million before reducing it to about ₦100 million and later settling on ₦50 million alongside the motorcycles.

He described the abduction as unjust and urged security operatives to go beyond routine measures in handling the case.

“We know that the Nigerian security agencies are today on top of the activities of the criminals, and we are aware that they have the know-how to get him out and we are counting on them,” he stated.

The incident has renewed concerns over rising insecurity and the continued threat of kidnappings targeting professionals and travelers across Nigeria.
