Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar and other senior party leaders have rallied supporters in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, in a final push for the party’s governorship candidate, Dr Najeem Folasayo Salaam.
The ADC delegation stormed the state capital on Monday as political parties intensified mobilisation ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday.
The party held its grand campaign finale in Osogbo, attracting a large crowd of supporters who expressed confidence in Salaam’s chances at the polls.
Atiku, who shared photographs from the campaign on his official X account shortly after the event, urged eligible voters in the state to support the ADC candidate.
“We are here to rally support for our candidate and make a final appeal to the people of Osun State to entrust the ADC with the responsibility of delivering purposeful leadership, good governance and a better future for all”.
The former Vice President and other party leaders used the rally to reinforce the ADC’s campaign message and appeal to voters across the state ahead of the election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is scheduled to conduct the Osun governorship election on Saturday.
The major contenders in the election include Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party and Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
