The All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in Abia State, Eric Opah, has urged residents to verify projects executed by Governor Alex Otti’s administration and compare them with the government’s publicised achievements.

Opah said independent verification would help residents distinguish completed projects from what he described as “audio and social media” claims.

He spoke in Umuahia on Wednesday during an event where women community leaders from Ikwuano and Umuahia declared support for the APC senatorial candidate for Abia Central, Emeka Atuma, and other party candidates in the state.

According to Opah, the impact of governance should be assessed through the actual living conditions of residents rather than the opinions of media personalities and social media influencers brought in from outside the state.

“You do not need to import people to verify what has been done. For me, Abia people are the ones to verify if at all they have received adequate projects.

“What we will do is to ensure that what they say has been done, has to be in place, not something that is audio.

“We do not need social media to verify for us,” Opah said.

The APC candidate, who expressed confidence in his ambition to become the next governor of Abia State, said the final decision rested with the electorate.

Earlier, the leader of the Ikwuano and Umuahia women community leaders, Chinyere Ehilegbu, cautioned against any alteration of the existing power sharing arrangement in Abia Central.
