Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has criticised Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde over his recent remarks and physical display during a political event, accusing him of disrespecting President Bola Tinubu.

In a viral video on Sunday, Igboho described Makinde’s stage jumping stunt as childish and disrespectful to the President.

He said, “He was jumping around like a frog and a mad man, insulting Tinubu, saying Tinubu can’t jump like him as if he doesn’t have a father.”

The activist warned that he would respond to anyone who insulted Tinubu, declaring: “If you insult Tinubu, I will insult you back.”

Igboho also cautioned against mocking elderly people, arguing that respect for older individuals was important. He described Makinde’s conduct as a disgrace.

The controversy followed an event on Thursday at a South West town hall meeting in Akure, Ondo State, where Makinde jumped down from the stage to demonstrate his physical stamina during his presidential campaign.

Makinde, who is contesting under the Allied Peoples Movement, said the 2027 election should focus on candidates’ energy rather than age and challenged other presidential hopefuls to demonstrate similar physical ability.

“If they can do that, vote for them,” Makinde said.

Although Makinde did not mention Tinubu by name, his remarks were widely interpreted as a reference to questions about the President’s physical fitness.
