Commuters plying Aba to Umuahia may now be left with no other option than paying as high as N1000 from Osisioma Junction to Umuahia,the Capital of Abia State.
Investigations by PUO REPORTS has revealed that Commercial Drivers Especially those in Osisioma Junction axis of Aba now force travelers to pay as high as N1000 to Umuahia.
The hike in fee was also extended to those traveling from Aba to Owerri.
In the same vein,those stopping at Ntigha Junction were asked to pay N700 and those stopping at Umuikaa Junction now have to pay N500.
The development has generated mixed reactions and complaints from Public Road Users especially traders who plies the road Daily.
Confirming the Development to our correspondent in Umuahia on Saturday evening,a traveler who gave his name as Clement Okorie said passengers have no option rather than paying the N1000,as according to him, it appears to be a conspiracy among the drivers.
“Am just returning from Aba this evening,you need to see the crowd of people in Osisioma Junction stranded as a results of this hike in Transportation fare by those Drivers”
“I want to use this medium to draw the attention of the Abia State Government into this because we travelers cant decipher how we are now asked to pay as high as N1000 from Osisioma to Umuahia which was between N200 and N300 before”
PUO REPORTS that the Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu is yet to assign portfolio to the just screened Commissioners .
