2019: NGWA Traditional Rulers Council Adopts Ikpeazu as Sole Governorship Candidate

In what could be described as a Royal Endorsement,Traditional Rulers in Ngwa Land has adopted Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as sole Governorship Candidate for the 2019 Governorship Election in Abia State.

This was the highlight of the courtesy call on an illustrious Prince of  Ngwa Land, a philanthropist, Chief Sir Chuku Wachuku (Urichindere 1 of Ngwaland) at his country home, Umunkpeyi Nbawsi, Isiala Ngwa North L.G.A.

In a motion moved by HRH Eze Monday Ugbor of Aba Ukwu in Aba South L.G.A, seconded by the following His Royal Highnesses, Eze Dandy Ogalabu (Isiala Ngwa North) Eze Paul Okpanku (Isiala Nga South) Eze P.O Ogbonna (Obingwa) Eze R. K Nwaorgu (Ugwunagbo) Elder Eze Ukaegbu (Osisioma Ngwa) and Eze S. A Egege (Aba North) the traditional rulers opined that there is no vacancy in Government house Umuahia till 2023.

While receiving the traditional rulers, Chief Chuku expressed complete satisfaction on the appraisal given to the performance of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu by the revered custodians of Ngwa Culture.

“Given the circumstances that surrounded the governor, he has done exceedingly well and he should be presented to Ndi Abia for re-election come 2019” he said.

He used the opportunity to appeal to all Ngwa people to bury their personal aspirations so that NGWA People can consolidate the people’s mandate, which is in tandem with the principle of equity.

Furthermore, the council through her leader, HRM Eze Dr. Ik Nwabaraije Eneogwe (Ekwueme 1 of Abayi Ancient Kingdom, Obingwa L.G.A) adopted a slogan to be widely used to ensuring the re-election bid of Governor Ikpeazu. E GO GO AGAIN…Okezie Ikpeazu! OKEZIE IKPEAZU………e go go again!!

The event witnessed the presence of the traditional rulers council’s executives; HRM Eze Dr. Nwabaraije (Chairman) HRH Eze Monday Ugbor (Vice Chairman) HRM Eze J.C Ngobi acted in capacity of the secretary, HRH Eze Barr. I.I Nnakwu who was absent on permission and over 200 traditional rulers from various autonomous communities in the seven (7) local government areas that made up Ala Ngwa.
