The All Progressives Congress, APC, has declared that it won’t investigate the leaked audio of the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, wherein he allegedly criticized President Muhammadu Buhari.
Recall that a former aide to ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri had released an audio recording of Amaechi, wherein he referred to Buhari as an ignoramus who neither takes advice nor reads to acquire information.
However, the National Publicity Secretary of APC, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu described the leaked tape as lies sponsored by those bent on frustrating Buhari’s re-election bid.
Speaking with Daily Independent on Thursday, Issa-Onilu maintained that Amaechi did not utter the statements ascribed to him.
Issa-Onilu said those behind the leaked audio were also responsible for the falsehood that Buhari has connections with a bank and telecoms companies.
He said: “We are not investigating anything because we know the audio leak is fallacious. We know full well that Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation didn’t say anything like that.
“So, why should we investigate what doesn’t exist?”
“It is just in line with what they have been doing. Before Amaechi, they said the president has connections with some banks.”
