Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson has called on members of All Progressives Congress (APC) to use their contacts and influence at the national level to bring federal appointments and projects to the state, rather than embarking on divisive tendencies that can polarise the people.

Criticising non-inclusion of Bayelsans at the federal level, in line with the federal character principle, he said the state deserved adequate representation, considering the fact that it contributed to the national economy.
The governor, according to a statement issued yesterday by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, made the observation during the Monthly Praise Night at the Palace of Melchizedek in Toru Orua, his hometown in Sagbama Local Government Area.
Dickson, who noted that the time had come for all Bayelsans to key into the restoration agenda, also extended a hand of fellowship to members of the main opposition party to close ranks with his administration in actualising the vision of the restoration agenda.
Meanwhile, the state government has put machinery in motion to turn waste to wealth by building recycling bin to give the environment a clean bill and discourage indiscriminate dumping of refuse.
Chairman of the state Environmental Sanitation Authority, Robert Enogha, who disclosed this in an interactive session with newsmen in Yenagoa, said the authority received four major presentations from interested members of the public to establish recycling plants in the state.
According to him, one of the contractors had been carefully selected because equipment needed for the recycling bin would be fabricated in Bayelsa State with the prospect to also generate over 250 jobs.
Enogha, who said the sanitation authority would ensure the state capital and its environs enjoyed good sanitary system, noted that if the level of compliance by the people improved, the board would bring other innovations into the system.
