The Jonde Jam Fulani Youth Association is seeking the prosecution of the members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) over the killing of five Fulani in Abia state.
The Fulani group has said that the IPOB is responsible for the kidnap and murder of five Hausa and Fulani men supposedly buried in shallow graves discovered by the Department of State Services.
Saeed Maikano, the president of the association, also asked the federal government to increase its probe to other South-eastern states where activities of IPOB are strong.
He said the discovery of mass graves of unidentified people by security agents had sent chills to the northern communities residing in the South- east and warned the Abia state Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu against politicizing the report.
However, Pro-Biafran supporters have criticised the DSS for linking them to an alleged mass grave recently discovered in the Abia state.
The security service blamed people from Biafra movement of being behind the murder of five people believed to have been found in a mass grave holding a total of 55 corpses.
The Abia state government denied the report of the shallow grave saying security men in the state never confirmed the reported discovery. Blaming the media for divulging such reports, the government also warned it could spark ethnic violence across Nigeria.
