EXCLUSIVE : Why Timipre Sylva Lost Bayelsa Poll To Seriake Dickson

No doubts that a known winner has emerged in the December 5th 2015  and January 9  2016 governorship election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Bayelsa State.

The need to ponder on why the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State Chief Timipre Sylva failed to secure the mandate of the people to occupy creek Haven becomes a Feature Here in PUO REPORTS.

Timipre Sylva was first elected Governor of Bayelsa State in April 14th 2007 until the Court of Appeal nullified the election on grouds that there was no election in the state and the Independent National Electoral Commission failed to prove that they actually conducted election in the state.

The then Speaker of the Bayelsa state House of Assembly Rt Hon Werinepere Seibarugu was sworn in as Acting Governor by the then Chief Judge of the state Justice Kate Abiri.

Election was conducted in 2008 and Timipre Sylva was returned as the winner he ruled Bayelsa from 2008 till 2012 when the National Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party disqualified him from contesting the Primaries of the Party in November 14 2011.

He reason of being disqualified by the National Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party borders on the fact that he was stoned by the People of Bayelsa State as a sign of total rejection.

During the merger of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Congress for Progressive Change, All Nigerians Peoples Party and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Chief Timipre Sylva, Preye Aganaba and few others laid the foundation for The All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State.

Timipre Sylva’s Failures 

Bad Records as Bayelsa Governor

During the reign of Timipre Sylva as governor of Bayelsa State, a lot of  killings was witnessed in the State using a Notorious gang approved by his administration, it was alleged that during his reign as Governor of Bayelsa State, State allocations were distributed in Hotels instead of Government House.

One of his infamous achievements was organizing Beauty Pageants Shows.

Disobedience

During the buildup to the governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State, PUO REPORTS published an Article of the order given Chief Timipre Sylva by the Party National Leadership due to his Bad records, he was asked to allow another aspirant fly the party’s ticket, but Sylva sturburnly disobeyed the party to procure the expression of interest and Nomination form.


Desperate To Control the Party in South-South

When former Rivers State Governor Chibuike Amaechi failed to be named the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Timipre bought over a full page to Congratulate the Man appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the Secretary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, because since Adams Oshiomele will step down this year, there was need to be the arrow head of the party in the entire South South

Betrayed Those he Promised Certain Lucre 

After collecting money from Over 16 PDP Defectors who were interested in the ticket of the party, Timipre Sylva betrayed them including a former NDDC Boss Chief Ndutimi Alaibe, he foisted himself on the party’s ticket After using thugs to organise his Kangaroo primaries which saw him winning thousands of Votes.

It did not end there, the Bayelsa State Chairman of the party Chief Timapa Tiwei was promised the position of a running mate by Chief Sylva If he help silent other aspirant during the primaries of the party, an agreement the part Chairman executed very well, but immediate after his name was submitted to INEC, Timipre Sylva dumped the party Chairman for a retired Old school principal Chief Wilberforce Igiri.

The Presidency was not left out as President Muhammadu Buhari who came to power with Zero tolerance for corruption was not pleased with Timipre Sylva as the candidate of the party in Bayelsa

Chief Timipre Sylva made a grave mistake to disobey the National Leadership of the All Progressives Congress
