| Abia Speaker and Wife |
I woke up this morning just like every other person to see the News Flying over the Incident that occurred in Umuikaa Portharcourt Aba Expressway between the Security Details attached to the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly Rt Hon Chikwenu Kalu and his Wife with men of the Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) .
The account we have read is that account of the Spokeperson’s of the FRSC and that of the Abia State Police Command.
May i unequivocally state that ,the Media Frenzy and Ridicule against the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly is caused by Lack of Cordial Relationship between some Political Office holders in Abia State and Men of the Pen Profession.
Most Politicians and Political Office Holders when you tell them the need to Regularly interface with State Based Media Practitioners,they view it as a call for spending unnecessary Money,but when it becomes too hot,they seek for Media Practitioners.
Had the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly R Hon Chikwendu Kalu been in touch with some Abia State Based Journalists or those reporting happenings from Abia State,that Media fenzy aimed at tarnishing his High earned reputation wouldnt have occured.
Believe me or not,no Media man will release a story aimed at destroying your reputation when you are in constant touch with him or her.
Whoever released that story,did it just to damage the reputation of the Abia State Speaker who just spent few Months in Office as a Speaker.
I could remember when i had a clashed with the Former Chief Press Secretary to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu Mr Godwin Adindu,that clash was necessitated over the former’s attempt to conclude that i came to demand money from him,when on the Contrary Online Media Practitioners in Abia State to which am the PRO wanted to work with him at that time,instead of understanding,he told people that PUO and co came to demand 300,000 Monthly from Him.
Am also aware that the Nigerian Union of Journalist Abia State Chapter is currently at loggerheads with Abia State Government.
An Investigation i carried revealed that grouse was simply caused by “NUJ Abia State Office”
In as much as am not trying to defend anybody here,i also know that a State Government does not owe any Organisation as duty to rent Office for them.
The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu Mr Enyinnaya Appolos tried to release over 70% of the Total Money demanded by NUJ for their State Office,yet the State Chairman was not satisfied,and that triggered all manners of reports,Including those calling for his Head.
At this Point in Time,the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly must come up with his own side of the story,anybody telling the Speaker not to say anything is not helping him,because the Police High Command in Abuja may direct the Abia State Police Boss to even withdraw their men from him,let alone when it had to do with the wife of the Speaker who is not Constitutionally entitled to any Security Detail.
Abia is our own,we must Join Hands to keep it Safe.
