Wike Bows To God As Bribery Fails

There is no doubt that the man known as high tension is under intense tension as his magical hands have been withered by the refusal of the Tribunal Judges to corrupt themselves with the King’s food. Since the scandalous August visit to the house of the Chief Justice of the Federation, the search lights of the security agencies particularly the DSS has remained focused on the Rivers Voyager who has failed to infect the Judges with his virus of bribery.

The embattled governor of Rivers state has since been demystified as both his party and himself have had all their efforts to stop the Petitions of the APC truncated at the tribunals. Gov. Wike who hitherto was seen by his followers and admirers as the one who decrees a thing and it must come to pass, is struggling like the prophets of Baal to reassure his people that he remained the rainmaker of Rivers politics.
In spite of his earlier boasts that he would win the elections over and over again, if the elections are conducted even by Ban Ki Moon, he like a magician, seems to have run out of his old tricks. There is palpable fear in his camp as was seen yesterday by the repeated calls his points men including Chinwe Aguma made to him from the venue of the Rivers Governorship Election Petition Tribunal. One of the callers had told him that he had lost confidence in ‘these’ people. Could he be referring to the Judges or those who were ostensibly given money to penetrate the panel members? There was tension in the camp as the doors of the judiciary have been clamped down against the award winning paymaster governor. Not even Godswill Akpabio can measure up to him in this regard.
The one who still wears the toga of an occult group in spite of prophecies of some bought over Men of God, has finally resorted to God. It is a harvest of church visitation and kneeling before the men of God. Niccodemus is no longer the friend at midnight. He has chosen to visit in the day time. The reason is not far from his hanging fate at the tribunal. It is the level of desperation that has caused the once grandmaster to become submissive. He wants his identity changed but will his character change. Wike’s new antics with the Church of Jesus Christ is the oxymoron of his life.
There is nothing wrong in seeking divine intervention in his case, but the fact remains that those who offer such prayers for him must start with the prayer of repentance. Either by his actions or inactions, several persons were killed during the period of elections. A family of nine was wasted in one fell swoop of dare devil assassins sponsored by his anchor men at Obirikom. This government, if not guilty should as a matter of decency, put aside party sentiments and pay a visit to the family of the Adubes. The Bishops and Pastors who pray for the sustenance of this government have only exposed their preference for a perverted Lord’s Prayer, “Our father, who art in Brick House. …Give us our daily bread”. They have forgotten that His will in Heaven shall be done on Earth. Even to “forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespassed against us”, has been deleted from the prayer.
It is therefore, a contradiction and an aberration for Wike to seek the face of God in public while confessing his sins in private. Rather than pray that those who seek justice at the tribunal to cut the lifespan of his mandate should be disgraced, he ought to know that there is another superior prayer by families of those whose loved ones were killed which goes like this: “Anyone who terminated the lifespan of our brothers or sisters, may the lifespan of his mandate be terminated by fire!”.
