” Those who are fighting and plotting to truncate the lifespan of the mandate freely given to me by the people of Rivers state will be disgraced by the God of the Lord’s Chosen…the way the God of the Lord’s Chosen did it on April 11,that is how he will do it again”.

These were the exact words of Gov. Wike during the Sunday service at the Lord’s Chosen church, Port Harcourt. No doubt, the man referred to as a caretaker governor by his opponents is in dire need of divine help. His victory at the polls is facing severe turbulence at the election tribunal, as the overwhelming evidence against him lays bare the culpability of electoral officers in announcing a figure far above the actual number of accredited voters.
Seriously, the only thing that can sustain the controversial victory is divinity. Not even attempts to strike out the petition of Dakuku Peterside and the APC on grounds of technicalities will provide an escape route for the embattled governor.
The outburst in the church today was not that of faith but of fear. It is obvious that the lifespan of his tenure is actually short. His claim of having a mandate from Rivers people is not only idiotic but sacrilegious. How could anyone believe there was a mandate when in actual fact, it was a womandate, if there is any such word. There was no way 1.5million voted on that day when the level of violence was such that very few persons summoned the courage to go to the polling centres. For those who would be in a hurry to discredit my post, before you do, take a visit to INEC and you will see the result of the central server of the Card Readers used for accreditation of voters. It was a paltry 292,000 voters as against 1.5million declared by INEC.

I have respect for the church when it refuses to be compromised because of pecuniary benefits. The so called mandate was given by the former President’s wife, Dame Patience Jonathan. It was a mandate gotten on the altar of blood through the barrel. There was no free mandate! A price tag was placed on any daring voter. For the benefit of those who claim to have the supremacy in the things of God, who fail to speak the truth, I have a word for you.
There is no amount of sacrifice or prayer offered that can stop God’s demand for justice over the blood of those killed for belonging to a different political party.
Wike’s resort to churches now because the lifespan of his mandate is under threat is akin to the actions of King Saul who failed to realise that “obedience is better than sacrifice and rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft”.
Obedience to the rule of law is better than building roads for churches. The only way to prove that he is as popular as he claims, is for him to allow his victory be tried at the tribunal.

The place of the church is only because he seeks a miracle. Unfortunately, this is not a matter for the church to decide. The onus lies in the tribunal.
The governor has openly declared that it was not his God who gave him victory on April 11. It was the God of the Lord’s Chosen church.
Without going deep into that, I wish to remind him that it was the God of Prophet Samuel who enthroned King Saul; that same God cut short the lifespan of Saul’s kingship. The same God who gave Adam the the mandate of dominion, also, cut short the reign of Adam at Eden.
