ABIA State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has said he is accountable to God and the people that elected him in whatever step he takes in governing the state. He vowed not to succumb to the antics of the opposition in the state, which he said, was out to distract him.

Ikpeazu was speaking, when he received in audience, stakeholders of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Abiriba in Ohafia Local Government Area of the state.

He alleged that the opposition was doing everything possible to distract him and deceive the people, adding that whatever was right for the people would continue to occupy the front burner of his administration.

The governor emphasized that he was only accountable to God and the people that elected him, and promised to support the Abiriba PDP stakeholders to move the party to greater height.

He assured them that every part of the state would have a feel of his administration, stressing that Ohafia was important in the political equation of the state.

Ikpeazu stated that there were many interventions that government would do in Ohafia, including completing the Abiriba ring road and installing streetlights, as the road remained a priority to the government.

This, he said, was part of his administration’s effort to return Abiriba to its former status.

He commended the leadership of the PDP in the community for galvanizing the party and urged others to emulate the good example.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Prince George Nnanna Kalu, congratulated the governor on the way he had been piloting the affairs of the state, including the construction of 30 roads across the state and the Abiriba ring road.
