While Nigerians are happy with the way and manner the previous government tackled the dreaded Ebola Virus which found its way into the country through the Lagos airport, no thanks to late Liberian born Patrick Sawyer, there is yet a new type of this human virus which aims at destroying institutions and those manning these institutions.
The first victim of this now most dreaded being whose territory moves from Rivers state to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, happens to be the Federal Ministry of Education. Having succeeded in destroying the institutions in Rivers state, this viral being with an insatiable appetite for money, headed for this sector where he first ensured that his boss, the senior Minister, Prof. Ruqqayatu was removed to pave way for his crab-like fingers. From the award of phony contracts to his cronies as well as those who needed to buy into his immoral ambition to the ravaging of parastatals and agencies under him, this “meddlesome voyager” aided the destruction of tertiary institutions during the period under his watch. Contracts not executed were paid for as kickbacks became the order of the day. The so-called Al majiri schools which gulped billions of naira were not only substandard but merely passed as glorified European buildings, such that the colonial masters left behind here.
Agencies like TETFUND and UBEC as well as UNITY SCHOOLS were his victims as they still struggle to grasp a breath of air.
Not done with the untold harm done to this sector albeit under the watchful eyes of a bewitched President, his second victim though, this visitor at midnight invaded another Federal Government institution. This time, the Judiciary was forced to assimilate his venom. His first visit here was when the PDP structure in Rivers state was snatched away from a more predictable Governor Amaechi. The sum of N80m was said to have been injected into the judiciary for the sole aim of buying a judgment which remains a mystery. Though the authentic Chairman of the party, Elder G.U.Ake provided the video evidence of the primaries where he was reelected, with party officials from Wadata plaza and INEC headquarters in attendance, according to the dictates of the law, surprisingly, another person, Felix Obuah a.k.a. Go round was declared the rightful candidate with the only evidence of a kidnapped Certificate of Return belatedly issued by the conniving party officials in Abuja who parted with the sum of N150m. Hmm!
The conspiracy to hijack the structure of the party was not done without the injection of this virus into the electoral body, INEC. While Prof. Jega was busy trying to sanitise the highly corrupt commission, best known for electoral fraud, some of his officers at the top were busy scrambling for the foriegn exchange thrown at them by this court rat. They helped to doctor the result of the congresses in exchange for an irresistible Eve’s apple.
Yet again, the 2015 elections became another Catholic bazaar for these officials who were bent on covering their illicit acts of hawking ballot papers and other electoral materials. Thank God for the Card Reader anyway. Surprisingly, those who participated in the shambolic election in Rivers state, who perpetuated this daylight robbery against the people of the state are seeking refuge under the one who contaminated their bank accounts with stolen money. Unfortunately, it’s a new day for Nigeria where the once comatose corruption agencies and the state security services have suddenly been baptised by the new intolerant, unchanging sheriff in Aso Rock.
Another plot to further contaminate the judiciary was hatched last week with an uninvited, unholy visit to the home of the Chief Custodian of the judiciary. Truly, this gallivanting virus has no respect for any constituted authority. He believes that every man has a price since he is possessed by the Judas spirit of bribery and betrayal. For him, if the CJN would not play ball, he can at least be black mailed. Not even the tribunal Judges would be spared. Today, it has shifted to the Appeal Coutt President.
Having in his record of achievements including the destruction of these institutions of government and the demonisation of his former boss, Rotimi Amaechi as well as indirectly aiding the fall of President Jonathan, this virus is sure deadlier than the Ebola Virus.
He must be QUARANTINED! Or better still, the security agencies should as a matter of urgency, quarantine this man before he infects and destroys other institutions!
