Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has stated that his administration is not considering revenue generation as one of the main reasons for the completion of the Akpajo-Elelenwo road.
Speaking after inspecting the road and the bridge linking Eleme Local Government Area on Monday, Governor Wike said that the construction of a toll gate to generate funds as proposed by the immediate past administration is not the focus of his administration.

He said that he is principally in government to promote the well being of the people, noting that the completion of the road will de-congest the ever busy Aba road.
He said : “Our interest in the completion of the road and bridge is to decongest Aba road. We also want to ensure that those living in Eleme instead of using Abs road will use this road to the city centre”.

The governor also inspected the on-going Abuluoma -Woji road with Bridge. He expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on the road.
He noted that the two roads are being funded through the loan taken from Access Bank. He said that the loan will be judiciously used to develop the state.
The governor noted that the administration will fund all road projects to completion, saying that funding will not be issue.
