Leading a high powered government delegation to Ezimo Eziowele was the Deputy governor of Abia State Rt. Hon Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, during the burial ceremony of Snr Mother Grace Eziamaka Emelumgini.
The Deputy governor and his entourage were received by Prince Odinaka Igwe a philanthropist, business mogul and Politician, who hails from Amuda Isuochi in Umunneochi local government area of Abia State. Prince Igwe is married to the first daughter of the deceased Mrs Peace Ogechukwu Igwe.
The funeral ceremony attracted notable dignitaries, such as a former governor of Anambra State Mr Peter Obi, Dr (Sir) Daniel Chukwudozie GMD Dozzy Oil & Gas Limited, Mr Peter Chinedu GMD Chipet International Limited and numerous Captains of Industries, Academia’s and Leaders of thought.
The Honourable Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development Dr Uche Ogah, was represented at the burial event by his wife. Other dignitaries were the Deputy governor of Anambra State Dr Nkem Okeke, Abia State Commissioner for Trade and Investment Dr Cosmas Ndukwe and Hon (Bar) Philip Okey Igwe, member representing Umunneochi at the Abia State House of Assembly. There were also a former Commissioner for Commerce Abia State, Chief Fabian Nwankwo, Hon Kenneth Madubuike and Council Chairman Umunneochi local government area, Hon Ifeanyi Madu.
The Chairman of PDP umunneochi local government area, Chief Mbanefo Agbadogo who led party faithfuls to the event, had prayed God to console the bereaved family. He commiserated with Prince Igwe, whom he regarded as a pillar of progress in Abia State.
In his funeral homily, the presiding minister Rev Dr John Ekunke of the Abiding Faith Church extolled the virtues of the late Senior mother Grace Emelumgini, whom he described as one that ran the earthly race. He urged the living to amend their lives since death is a necessary end, in order to inherit the kingdom of God at death.
In similar vein, founder of the Dominion Faith International Ministries Pastor Paul Igwe described the deceased as a woman of honour, that lived a Christ like life during her life time. He urged the living not to grieve like people without hope, as mama is already on the right hand of her maker.
Similarly, first Son of the deceased Deacon Emmanuel Emelumgini described her late mother as an epitome of peace, who was always delighted in making those around her happy. He expressed gratitude to God for a life well spent
Mrs Maureen Aniakor, President Sisters Fellowship Lekki chapter, commiserated with the deceased family and her colleague in the Lord the first daughter of the deceased over the sad incident. She prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The late matriarch madam Grace Emelumgini is survived by seven children, grand children and great grand children
Highlight of the burial event was the lowering of the remains to mother earth, by the Apams funeral home, amid tributes, eulogies and funeral fare well songs by the family, Inlaws, friends and well wishers.
