PDP Reps candidate petitions INEC over 4,000 PVCs allegedly found with opponent in Enugu

Candidate of People  for Democratic Change, PDC, for Nkanu East/Nkanu West Federal constituency in Enugu State,   Nnolim Nnaji, has   petitioned the national chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega, calling for prosecution of his opponent,   (names witheld) for allegedly being caught with over 4,000 Permanent Voter Cards, PV’s, on the day of the election.

In the petition dated March 29,   2015,   with reference No. CCO/CO/116/2015 to   the INEC chairman, and made available to journalists in Enugu, yesterday,   Nnaji, through his   counsel,   Chuma Oguejiofor,   alleged that “during the accreditation of voters in last Saturday’s Presidential/National Assembly election, the opponent was arrested by soldiers and other law enforcement agents at Four Corner Junction, Ozalla, in Nkanu West Local Government Areas of Enugu state, for being in possession of over   4,000 permanent voter cards, PVC’s.”
Nnaji said  in the petition that   the INEC Chairman should prosecute the suspect or authorize his counsel to do so under section 150 (2) of the Electoral Act where the commission is unable to do so.
“We are solicitors for Hon. Nnolim Nnaji (he) is hereinafter called our client).   We write on his behalf and instruction.
‘’It his further instruction that he (Nnaji) had contested in the election to the Nkanu East/Nkanu West Federal Constituency which had taken place on 28/3/2015 as a candidate of the Peoples for Democratic Change, PDC.’’The suspect, had also contested in the same election as a candidate, he said .
“That during the accreditation of voters for the election, Ujam was caught by soldiers and other law enforcement agencies with more than 4000 permanent voter cards
