A real estate developer, Mr. Abraham Okoro, Wednesday, told a Lagos Magistrate’s court in Ikeja how he identified one of the suspected robbers, who attacked him some years ago after he had sold a property, at Surulere Magistrate’s Court on March 27, 2013.

Okoro, who was testifying before Magistrate Abimbola Komolafe, said the suspect, Babatunde Ogunmefun, was married to his estranged wife, Adedoyin Ogunmefun (nee Ajaba).
He said his estranged wife and the suspect had written a petition against him over paternity of his two children.
He said it was when he got to the court at Surulere, that he identified Adedoyin’s new husband as one of the robbers that came to his house.
Okoro further stated that after he recognised Ogunmefun in court, he wrote a petition to Lagos State Police Commissioner on March 29, 2013 to investigate the matter, adding that he had earlier reported the robbery incident to the police when it happened.
According to him, Ogunmefun was arrested on May 3, 2013 for questioning and that while the case was ongoing, one Ashiru, who undertook his bail, happened to be one of the property agent that his (estranged) wife introduced to him to help sell a property.
He said after he identified the agent (Ashiru), he denied, saying it was his brother who looks like him.
Okoro, who said he discove-red that Ashiru was brother in-law to Ogunmefun, concluded that given the scenario, his estranged wife had conspired with them to dupe him.
At the last sitting, Okoro had told the court that his estranged wife brought another man’s pregnancy to his house, pleading with him to accept it.
Magistrate Komolafe adjourned the matter till June 24 for cross examination.
