Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, has expressed happiness with the quality and
progress of work at the InternationalConference Centre, the Shoprite in Umuahia
North Local Government Area and the Old
Umuahia erosion site in Umuahia South Local
Government Area.

Answering questions from newsmen after visiting the projects to ascertain the
progress of work, Governor Orji said that theprojects are dear to him.
According to him, the projects when completed will stand the test of time and
serve the people of the state, adding that the Shoprite will boost commerce in the
state.
Governor Orji said he was happy that the
erosion site at Old Umuahia has been brought
under check as many surrounding houses
would have been eaten up if left unattended
to, pointing out that the government is also
doing the road.
He stated that some of the legacy projects
that are ready will be commissioned before
he leaves office while others that have
reached advanced stages of completion will
be completed and commissioned by the
incoming government.
He said that for him the most important
thing is starting and completing the projects
and not necessarily the commissioning,
maintaining that government has signed an
MOU with reputable companies that will
manage the buildings to ensure that they
last.
