I try within my power not to involve myself in any form of disagreement with clergymen because of my upbringing, because personally I feel and I have read in the Bible that when a man of God is not saying the truth it’s between himself and his God.During the wedding ceremony of Gen.Kenneth Minimah’s Rtd. daughter that took place on the 8/8/2015 at St.Cyprian Anglican Church in Port Harcourt.Venerable Abbey Kalio said this words to His Excellency Dr.Dakuku Adol Peterside “the elections has come and gone and please don’t listen to any other voice than the voice of God”
Now my questions are;
-What’s the voice of God?
-Is the voice of God for justice or against justice?
I strongly know the Bible is not against any man seeking justice through a legitimate medium.
Venerable Abbey Kalio asking His Excellency Dr.Dakuku Adol Peterside to join hands with Gov.Nyesom Wike to transform the state is most unacceptable to APC faithfuls and Rivers indigenes at large,because the questions I will like to ask Venerable Abbey Kalio are as follows;
-Was he in Rivers state during the pre election campaigns?
-Why were Rivers indigenes killed across Local government areas?
-What was his stand during the killings across local government areas?
-Was the elections free and fair?
After answering this questions, I think it will be unjust for His Excellency Dr.Dakuku Adol Peterside not to seek redress and ask for a total cancellation of the elections and seek for a free and fair rerun in the state. In not doing so the blood of innocent Rivers indigenes that were killed,will keep crying out for justice.
I had thought as a clergyman Venerable Abbey Kalio would have admonished both parties to conduct themselves with decorum as leaders,while the matter last in the tribunal.
Therefore, his advice that His Excellency Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside should not listen to other people rather than the voice of God include himself,because there is a parallel line between the voice of God and the voice of men.
My final take is when a man of God sees the truth, irrespective of who is involved, please speak the truth.
You can’t place something on nothing,if the foundation is faulty the house is bound to collapse.
