Unless there is a change of attitude and modus operandi from the Chief Press Secretary to the Abia State Governor,  Mr.Godwin Adindu, the State Governor Dr.Okezie Ikpeazu’s relationship with Journalists and Media Practitioners in the state is heading for the rocks.

Adindu had last two weeks,  allegedly ordered the police at the government House Umuahia to throw out about 13 Journalists who had been working as Government House Correspondents for more than 16yrs.

Puo Reports gathered that no reason was given by Mr  Adindu for the order which did not follow any stipulated official procedure before it was enforced.

Some of the affected Journalists, who would not want their names to be made public, told this Platform that they had been working as Government House Press Crew for more than 10yrs despite the mandatory constitutional change of Leadership through elections, and wondered why Adindu would want them thrown out of the government house.

It was also gathered that Godwin Adindu, who was hired by the immediate past administration of Chief T A Orji as a columnist, was not even part of the Abia State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Media Team that worked tirelessly for Governor Okezie Ikpeazu during the 2015 campaign period, thus bringing to question Adindu’s capabilities as the CPS to the Governor.

Some Journalists who spoke with our correspondent, complained bitterly about Mr.Godwin Adindu’s high handedness, especially to Journalists whenever they try to speak with him on the Government’s efforts at ensuring quick and effective delivery of its campaign Promises.

A Particular Journalist was practically pushed out of Mr. Adindu’s office last week by Adindu himself for daring to ask a question on the debt profile of the state.

What is most surprising at this moment is why Adindu would choose this path, of confrontation with journalists, which may eventually destroy the Government of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.
