Rivers State Governor Barr.Nyesom Ezenow Wike said the need to recover oil Wells belonging to Rivers State that where ceded to neigbouring Akwa Ibom,Abia and Bayelsa State is no longer negotiation following the continous decrease in the monthly Revenue and Allocation accruing to the State.

Governor Wike made this known through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Mr.Opunabo Inko-Taria during a live Radio Programme(Bulls eyes) on Cool Fm Portharcourt

Two guests Barr.  Sogbeye Eli and Opunabo Inko-Tariah were in the studio. when the  issue of oil wells belonging to Rivers State that were ceded to neighbouring States was brought forth for discussion,Mr Opunabo spuriously asked Rivers People to join hands with the state Governor to recover the oils wells

“Let us get our oil wells back, that is the paramount thing. The reason is that these oil wells have financial implications. Our revenue is dwindling. We need money for development. Anybody who has Rivers blood in him should join hands with the Governor, Barr. Nyesom Wike to get these oil wells that were ceded to neighbouring States of Bayelsa, Abia and Akwa Ibom. It is genuine effort. Join the fight.” He Stated.

However Barr.Sogbeye Eli,a former Local Government Chairman of Degema and a stalwart of the APC,reminded Governor Wike that there is need for him to apologize to Rivers People for playing politics with what rightly belongs to the state

“The Wike government must purge itself of character of inconsistencies. This government must be consistent. It must not continue in the character of saying one thing in the morning and say another in the afternoon. We are already in the fight for the reclamation of ceded Rivers State oil wells but the governor and his supporters like Opunabo must apologize to Rivers people for making us go through excruciating pains for years when they supported the former President in the takeover of our oil wells.”
