INEC To Abandone Nyesom Wike at Election Petition Tribunal

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has finalized move to abandone Governor Nyesom Wike at the Rivers State Election Petition Tribunal sitting at the APO High Court Abuja.

PUO REPORTS Learnt that the move by the commision followed the abscondement of proposed witnesses made up of Youth Corpers who were used as AD-HOC staff during the April 11th Governorship Election in Rivers State.

Recall that on Thursday,Lead Counsel to INEC Dr.Onyechi Ikpeazu(SAN) failed to appear at the Tribunal citing health grounds,the commission however prayed the court for adjournment,which was granted with a caveat emptor that by Monday 28th September 2015,the Commission had used 4days out of the 6days allocated to them,since the Tribunal will be going a sallah Holiday from 21st September to 27th September 2015.

It was gathered that by September 28th,when the Tribunal will resume,Counsel to INEC Dr.Onyechi Ikpeazu may still not appear in court,on the grounds that he is yet to recover from his feverish condition.
