The reported secret romance between Abia State Governor’s Chief Press Secretary (CPS) Mr. Godwin Adindu and a married woman in his office almost turned messier as the husband allegedly caught the two compromisingly together.

The incident happened fortnight ago, Saturday 10th Oct. at the Government House Umuahia when the suspicious husband acting on information stormed Government House and allegedly caught his wife who had left the house earlier ostensibly on duty climbing downstairs’ with the CPS curdling each other.

Our source, one of the Government House residents told us that on sighting the both of them, the furious husband descended on the wife while Mr. Adindu quickly jumped inside his Toyota Yaris car and zoomed off to avoid the shame and the wrath of the raging husband.

“He beat the lady but for our intervention; he later abandoned her and left,” our source said.

Our residential source at the Government House added that immediately after the incident, the lady was off duty for some time but has resumed again with her power and influence showing no sign of abating albeit the CPS who maintains ‘low key’ for now.

The lady in her 30s who we would like to preserve both her name and description for anonymity sake marrying to a 60 years-old Umuahia man is said to have been transferred from another department (name withheld) by the CPS, Adindu to his office and should have formally served as a cleaner.

But we gathered that Adindu moved her from the downstairs where she ought to have stayed with other senior staff including the secretary to the conference room upstairs where she does the errands of the receptionist whose duties she has usurped.

“The lady has become our boss; she determines what the rest of us do. The situation is tensed as it is gradually becoming a keen rivalry,” an inside source added.

Meanwhile Mr. Adindu’s faceoff with Abia State Government House correspondents might soon lead to an open confrontation as the newsmen who are warming up for showdowns have vowed to disgrace him.

Apart from taken their stipends provided by the Governor after assignments; the latest being the last press briefing where Adindu high jacked press money and later shared tokens to some of them, we gathered that he stopped the Abia State FRCN correspondent Chinedu Anyaso from entering into the occasion organized for Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s 51 year birthday anniversary on the pretense that the Deputy Governor had arrived and seated.

Anyaso who was stopped by security personnel even when they were fully aware that he is a journalist at the entrance for proper identification was said to have sent words across to Adindu who was already inside but got the shock of his life when Adindu came and asked him to leave that the Deputy Governor was already seated inside.

“Adindu is being intoxicated with the influence that goes with his office but is gradually losing it. Paradoxically he is an image maker that needs more image makings than the governor,” a journalist said.

All efforts to get Adindu comment on the several allegations against him were abortive as he refused to pick his calls or returned them as at the time of filing this report.
