The APC Deputy Governorship candidate, Elder Wilberforce Igiri has called on the abductors of his octogenarian mother, Mama Ebigegha Titus-Igiri, to release her unconditionally.

The politician made the appeal while speaking as a special guest, at a One Day Workshop organized by the Return Sylva 05/12/15 Forum in Yenagoa.  The workshop was organized with the aim of bringing great minds together, to brainstorm on strategies for winning elections and also set an agenda for the incoming Chief Timipre Sylva administration.

Elder Wilberforce Igiri in his remarks, appealed to the abductors of his mother that he understands that unemployment and lack of what to do is the major reason why such ideas would even cross their mind. He assured them that he holds nothing against them. He also used the opportunity to assert that, though he is not in a position to make policy statements at the time; the incoming government will create job opportunities for young people in the state.  In his keynote address earlier, the Deputy Director-General Campaigns of the Sylva-Igiri Campaign Organization High Chief Lionel Jonathan-Omo stated that the present PDP administration led by Henry Dickson is a leadership without ideas and vision. He advised leaders to go to the bible and learn wisdom.

Taking references from several passages of scripture he quoted that the bible states that without vision a people perish. He also drew another text from the bible which he quoted as instructing to “write the vision upon tables, that him that readeth will run with it”. He said the only reason governor will attack people cleaning up the city is because he is in short supply of ideas. He further stated that ideas doesn’t just come from space, it comes by reason of mental exercise like this workshop. He thanked the organisers of the program for their leadership and ingenuity. He opined that the workshop is very timely.  High Chief Jonathan-Omo further requested for more of such programs, he also appealed to be invited to speak on Agriculture in a subsequent one.   Also to kick start the workshop, Chief Nathan Egba, who is the Director of Media and Publicity Sylva-Igiri Campaign Organisation, and also doubles as the Administrator of the Return Sylva 05/12/15 Forum, in his welcome address, called on all members of the APC to ignore the rantings of members of the outgoing administration and focus more on what the APC administration will do after February 14th 2016. He said this is so because the elections are already won. Chief Nathan further stressed the need for continued consultations and brainstorming which he said had necessitated this workshop.

He used the forum to also appreciate the numerous women who came out in their numbers to clean the rubbish littering the streets of Yenagoa. He assured that the Sylva administration is going to be a very responsive one when it comes in.  The workshop which held at the Top Ranks Galaxy Hotels was witnessed by several top-ranking members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State including its State Chairman Chief Tiwei Orunimighe, Secretary Marlin Daniel, Organising Secretary Sir Tonye Okio. The event was chaired by a member of the APC national Board of Trustees Hon. Barr. Prince Peres Peretu.  Four Papers were present on Rejigging the Bayelsa Ecomony and Infrastructure by Dr. Michael Amaegberi, Re-Structuring the Civil Service for Effective service delivery by Ven. I. B. Theophilus and Mrs Gloria Izonfo, others were Educational Development by Ms Doreen Diette-Koki and Youth Empowerment by Pastor Barnabas McClint.  Participants were drawn from all sectors, women, youths, entrepreneurs, civil societies etc.  Interestingly, while the APC is brainstorming on how to take the state out of the doldrums that the clueless PDP has plunged her into, the Gov. Seriake-led PDP is busy planning on how to use thugs to disenfranchise Bayelsans, thereby robbing them of their legitimate franchise.
