The INEC Returning Officer who supervised the conduct of the House Of Representative election for Obio-Akpor Federal Constituency in the March 28 2015 National Assembly election in Rivers State Dr. Ebirien Fubara has been Assasinated.

PUO REPORTS Learnt that late Dr Ebirien Fubara was Assasinated alongside his second son and driverat their Residence in Peter Odili Read Port Harcourt at about 2am on Friday.
The assailants gained entrance into his flat after Killing his 2nd son with short iron, hitting him to death. They further attacked his Driver who lives with them in the same estate and the man is still in a critical condition at BMH.

Dr Ebirien Fubara a senior lecturer at Ignatius Ajuru University Of Education and also a commissioner at Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) appointed by Governor Nyesom Wike was clubbed to coma and was rushed to BMH with the Driver but gave up the ghost in the early hours of Sunday and his body has been deposited at the Military Hospital mortuary with his son on Sunday.
The now traumatised wife was spared only because she hid in the toilet. No clue has been gotten on the source of the attack but he was the returning officer in the House of Representative election in Obio Akpor Federal Constituency which Tony Okocha of the APC lost to O. K. Chinda of the PDP before Appeal court nullified the election last weekend.
