Security Personnel attached to the Abia State Government House yesterday teargassed Protesters sponsored by Senator Mao Ohuabunwa who was controversially declared winner of Abia North March 6 Rerun Senatorial Election by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
One of the Youths who joined in the Protests told PUO REPORTS on Thursday Morning that they were given N2000 each by the Peoples Democratic Party Senator Mao Ohuabunwa to protest against the candidate of the Progressive Peoples Allaince(PPA) Dr Orji Uzor Kalu at the gate of the Abia State Government House.

The Returning Officer of INEC for the Abia North Marhc 5 2016 Rerun, Dr Ojike Nwankpa, had on March 6th 2016 stated that Senator Mao Ohuabunwa polled 26,009 votes to defeat candidates of Progressive Peoples Alliance, and All Progressives Grand Alliance, Chief Orji Kalu and Chief Bourdex Onuoha, who polled 25,814 votes and 13,633 votes respectively.
The Declaration of Senator Mao Ohuabunwa shocked a lot of people who participated in the election as INEC had in the evening of March 5 declared the election Inconclusive,but on Sunday Morning news started flying in that INEC has declared Mao Ohuabunwa Winner at the INEC office in Umuahia
Orji Uzor Kalu in the mean Time has filed a petition at the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia
