Former Governor of Rivers State and now Minister incharge of Transportation in Nigeria Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi has vowed to ensure that the three Senators from Rivers State who opposed his Nomnation by President Mohammadu Buhari as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria have a taste of the pains he went through.
Amaechi known for his penchant in publicly revealing private decisions told the Leadership of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Rivers State that it was true that the Peoples Democratic Party won all the three Senatorial Elections but he will continue his influence on INEC to delay the announcement of the Results.
The SENATE delayed the screening of Chibuike Amaechi in October 2015 based on the inability of the Senator Samuel Anyanwu led Ethics and Privileges committee to finalize on time decision of his committee on the petition written against the nomination of Amaechi by the Integrity Group.
Senator George Thompson Sekibo conveyed to the SENATE the resolution of his colleagues ; Osinakachukwu Ideozu and Olaka Wogu not to support Amaechis nomination on grounds that he massively looted the Treasury of Rivers State between October 2007 and May 28th 2015 when he occupied the Brick House
Amaechi said with the help of INEC National Commissioner, Mrs Amina Zakari ,the three Senators from Rivers will feel the pains he felt when after screening his colleagues,the SENATE Postponed his screening three Times.
It will be recalled that INEC had suspended the announcement of results from the March 19th National and state Houses of Assembly in Rivers State on the 21st of March 2016 despite the fact tha the results had already been announced in their various Units,Wards and Local Government Areas
