Lawyers representing Rev Dr Paul Emeka,the Suspended,Dismissed and Disfellowshiped Former General Superintendent of Assemblies Of God Nigeria today abandoned him at the Court were he was undergoing trial for parading a forged Document
Justice Umar Yusuf Kargarko of the Upper Area Court had fixed today 25th of May 2016 to rule on an Application brought by Rev Dr Paul Emeka seeking a stay of execution of the Order of the Court for the Police to arrest him and produce him for trial
The Incorporate Trustees of Assemblies of God Nigeria had through their Lawyer Barr Ifeanyi Nwaeze approached the Upper Area Court seeking an Order for the Nigerian Police to bring the Investigation Report together with Rev Dr Paul Emeka for trial
And on the 16th of February 2016 Justice Umar Yusuf Kargarko of the Upper Area Court in Gudu Abuja gave an order for Rev Dr Paul Emeka to be arrested and produced in Court for parading a Forged Document
But on the resumed sitting of the Court,Barr That Barr J.U Ajii handling the case for Rev Dr Paul Emeka brought a notorious Application which was Dead on Arrival for Stay of Execution pending the outcome of his Appeal,which prompted the court to Fix 5th of May 2016 for ruling on the Application
When the Court discovered that all documents were not yet ready fixed 25th of May which is Today for Rulling,but funny enough all the Lawyers Representing Rev Dr Paul Emeka were no where to be Found
It was the Court Clerk that brought to the Attention of the court a letter written and smuggled into the File of the Court by Lawyers of Rev Dr Paul Emeka asking for Adjournment of the Ruling from Today to 27th or 29th of June 2016 on grounds that Barr Barr J.U Ajii handling the case for Rev Dr Paul Emeka is Sick and needed time to seek medical attention
Barr Ifeanyi Nwaeze Counsel to the Incorporated Trustees of Assemblies of God Nigeria argued that the letter dated 24th May 2016 asking for adjournment did not have the Seal of the Lawyer(Barr Agama) on it and thus cannot be relied Upon to adjourn the Matter
That the Content of the letter is deceitful because they had all other lawyers in the Chambers other Barr Ajii and R.O Agama who could appear on their behalf to take the ruling
After Listening to Barr Ifeanyi Nwaeze,the Presiding Judge Justice Umar Yusuf Kargarko declared that that he was not afraid to deliver his ruling,but that for the interest of Justice he will adjourned his ruling till on the 27th of June 2016
