30 year old Joe Fortemose Chinakwe, has been arrested by the police after one of his neighbours, who is a northerner, complained bitterly that he named his dog after his father, Alhaji Buhari.

According to Vanguard, the complainant reported the case at Sango Police Station last Saturday and Mr. Chinakwe was arrested afterwards and detained.

However, reports say efforts to recover the dog, which police intended using as evidence failed as the suspect allegedly told his friends to kill the dog and eat the meat to avoid being implicated.

Mr. Chinakwe is a trader at a popular market in Sango Ota.

Consistent appeals by his friends and relations for the police to grant him bail failed as the complainant and his kinsmen reportedly threatened to kill the trader if he was released on bail.
