The Taraba State chairman of Universal Basic Education Board Mr Yakubu Agbaizo disclosed that the state government would soon pay the three months salary arrears to the primary school teachers in the state.
The government is trying to fish out the ghost workers in the sector to recoup found and pay the genuine teachers as well as refurbish the public schools.
The Chairman said: “we are collecting data of the teachers, we have issues on ghost workers and as soon as the committee set up to investigate the matter is done everything would be over.
He however reiterated that the delay in salary payment was as the result of financial condition the nation and the state is going through and soon it will be the thing of a past.
He noted that the governor is sourcing for money and as soon it’s gotten, the arrears would be settled completely.
The state government pay 52 million the ghost primary school teachers every month. He said.
