A four-year-old girl, Aisosa Ogbeide, has been reportedly shot dead during a raid by suspected armed robbers on Enaghege Street, in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State.

It was learnt that the robbers stormed the residence of a lecturer at the University of Benin and father of the little girl, Dr. Kingsley Ogbeide, at about 4am on November 19.
The late Aisosa was said to have been hit by a bullet and died instantly as the gunmen forced their way into the apartment.
Ogbeide, who said that the robbers commanded him to submit his gold and cash, noted that two of his other children also sustained varying degrees of injury during the attack.
According to him, the gunmen scaled through the fence of the building before breaking into his apartment.
Ogbeide said, “We started scampering to safety and raised the alarm to nearby neighbours. Then the children woke up and we all ran to the lobby. In two minutes, they broke the protector and were already inside.
“When they entered, they started asking, ‘Where is the money? Where is the gold?’ I told them that we did not have money or gold.
“Truthfully, I was only having N500 in my wallet. My wife had no money. We are just civil servants. We told them that there were laptops and they still took the laptops and phones.”
Ogbeide, who wondered why the robbers shot her daughter when they had already found their way into the house, added they later fled before the arrival of the police.
He continued, “Because the lobby door was a bit closed, one of them suddenly shot through the door and the bullet hit one of my daughters, who died on the spot, while the other two children sustained some level of injuries.
“I do not know why he shot because the door was not locked. Even the other robber started quarrelling with him and asked him why he shot.”
When contacted on Friday, the Public Relations Officer, Moses Nkombe, told our correspondent that he was not aware of the incident.
“I am not aware of that,” Nkombe told our correspondent on the telephone.
