The posters of Son of Former Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state, Dr Cyril Oshiomhole yesterday flood the City of Benin, indicating his interest to contest as member representing Etsako Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.

Dr Oshiomhole who is a US-based Medical Doctor returned to Benin City December last year and then indicated interest to run as successor to Hon Philip Shaibu who formerly represented the constituency until he was sworn-in as Deputy Governor of Edo state.

The posters sponsored by Etsako Vanguard with the theme “Enough is Enough, it is time for New Generation” has however generated perturbed views in strategic places like Airport Road, Government Reservation Area, and Auchi including the government house where they were found.

A close source to Dr Oshiomhole however reveal that, “If he wants to contest, he is free” stating that he has the qualifications and has the fundamental right to contest.

Meanwhile, speaking with our correspondent in Benin City, Mr Osaro Osarobo who frowned at the posters said such positions were not generational urged Oshiomhole’s son to the hospital.

According to him, “I saw the posters this morning and it was surprising that Oshiomhole’s son would want to succeed Shaibu in the House of Representative just barely three months his father left as governor.

“Well power is not by force and it is not generation so it is bad for democracy”.

The election is expected to be held in Etsako within 90 days after the seat has been declared vacant by INEC in December last year.
