The Senator representing Katsina South, Senator Abu Ibrahim, has expressed the confidence that President Muhammadu Buhari who returned from a 49-day medical vacation in March is now well.

“I am very happy, I am really thrilled and quite confident that he (Buhari) is very well now,” the federal lawmaker told State House correspondents on Friday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Ibrahim recalled that he had joined some other stakeholders from Katsina State including the state governor, Alhaji Aminu Masari, and traditional rulers to pledge their loyalty to the President on Thursday evening.

He said with their interaction with Buhari, he was confident that the President who returned to the country on March 10 is fit enough to continue his job.

The Senator said, “The Thursday visit to the President was like a family affair.

“Our father and elder brother (the President) was sick and it is normal for members of the family to come and greet him as he has returned, so it was a normal family affair.

“The governor led a train with the two Emirs of Kastina and Daura, the three Senators -Senator Buka from Katsina East; Senator Keffi from Katsina Central and myself from Katsina South.

“So we greeted him and we are happy that he is well and he is back and I am sure he is fit enough to take the mantle of leadership.

“We reaffirmed our loyalty to him and he too thanked us for our support and the usual advice we give him from time to time.”

Buhari was on Wednesday absent from the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council, fueling speculations that his health condition could have deteriorated.

But on Friday, the President joined other Muslims for the Juma’at prayer inside the Presidential Villa.

The senator was among those who joined Buhari for the prayers.

The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai; and his Ogun State counterpart, Ibikunle Amosun, were also present at the prayer session.

Others at the prayer session were the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN); Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali; Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello; and the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, among others.
