Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has said that the state was more secure than Lagos, Kogi. Kaduna, Kano and Benue States, where kidnappers and murderers ravage urban communities as reported daily.
Wike also declared that the state was becoming safer on a daily basis because of the investments of his administration in the maintenance of security.
The governor, who spoke Saturday night at a dinner to mark the 20th Anniversary of Air France flying into Port Harcourt International Airport, berated opposition leaders engaging in negative propaganda against the people on security issues and had refused to acknowledge that Rivers was more secure than some other states in the country.
He maintained that his administration would do everything within its power to build on investors’ confidence to do business in Rivers.
Wike said, “Investors are coming to Rivers regularly and they are talking about insecurity. Look at what is happening in Lagos, Kogi, Kaduna, Benue and Kano States and you will realise that this state is the safest.”
